Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
1. What we collect
When you start Free, we collect your selected supported lane, work email, UEI, and policy acceptance. After email verification, you may complete your firm profile.
- Account information — your work email and, during firm setup, your name. Authentication is handled by WorkOS; FedLane does not store a password.
- Firm profile — your selected lane and SAM UEI, plus the primary geography, typical contract value range, and optional target agencies you provide during setup
- Conversion context — a first-party, allowlisted record of the FedLane page and button that led to signup. It never includes your name, email, UEI, free text, or full referring URL.
- Usage signals — which digest opportunities you open, track, or mark as submitted; bid pipeline status updates
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and access logs (standard server logs, retained 90 days)
We do not collect payment information directly. Paid tier billing is handled by Stripe, which has its own privacy policy.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Deliver your ranked lane digest and weekly Free coverage receipt
- Improve scoring accuracy using aggregated, anonymized engagement signals
- Send service emails (email verification, digest delivery, account notices)
- Detect and prevent abuse
- After email confirmation, check your UEI against available SAM.gov entity records; firm ownership and access to shared firm details are reviewed separately
- Conduct internal research to develop new features and improve lane intelligence
See our Data Handling Policy for details on how usage signals inform our research and what we will never do with your data.
3. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever
- We do not share your firm profile or bid activity with other users
- We do not use your data for advertising or ad targeting
- We do not share your identity with the government agencies whose opportunities you view
4. Data sharing
We share data only with the following categories of service providers, under data processing agreements, solely to operate the service:
- Authentication — WorkOS (identity and SSO)
- Payments — Stripe (billing, paid tiers only)
- Infrastructure — Cloudflare (hosting, storage, email delivery)
- AI processing — Anthropic and OpenAI (opportunity scoring and digest generation — data is not used to train their public models per our API agreements)
We do not sell or rent this access. We do not use data brokers.
5. Data retention
- Account and profile data: retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account closure on request
- Digest and bid pipeline history: retained for the life of your account to support your own records
- Anonymized, aggregated usage signals: retained indefinitely for research purposes
- Server logs: 90 days
6. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate profile information via your portal settings
- Request deletion of your account and personal data
- Opt out of non-essential email communications
To exercise any of these rights, email support@fedlane.us. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices: encrypted data in transit (TLS), managed authentication through WorkOS, access controls on production systems, and secrets management via Cloudflare. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@fedlane.us.
8. Cookies
We use a session cookie to maintain your authenticated state. Before signup, we may use first-party session storage to remember a non-identifying source page, selected lane, and intended action within the current browser tab. We do not use advertising cookies or store form values in analytics storage. Cloudflare provides cookieless aggregate page analytics.
9. Changes to this policy
We will notify registered users by email before material changes to this policy take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
