How we handle your data

The short version
Your data makes the service smarter — for you and for every firm like yours. We use it to improve scoring, identify lane patterns, and build better features. We will never sell it, share it with third parties for their benefit, or use it to hurt your competitive position. That is the deal. Everything below explains how.
What we do with your data
Checking firm identity
We store the UEI you provide at signup. After you confirm your email, we may check that identifier against available SAM.gov entity records. This existence check is separate from the manual review required before an account can edit shared firm details.
Delivering your digest
Your firm profile — set-aside, NAICS, geography, contract value range — is the filter and ranking input for every digest we send you. Without it, the service is a firehose. With it, you get a ranked shortlist of the opportunities most likely to fit your lane.
Improving scoring accuracy
When you click through to SAM.gov, track a bid, or mark one as submitted, that signal tells us something: this type of opportunity, in this lane, at this value, was worth your time. Aggregated and anonymized across users, these signals train our scoring model to rank better for everyone in similar lanes.
No individual firm's bid decisions are exposed to other users. The learning is collective; the data is yours.
Internal research and feature development
We retain bid signal data — which opportunities were tracked, which were bid, which were won or lost — as a proprietary research corpus. We use this to:
- Understand which lanes have the highest win rates for specific firm profiles
- Develop better bid/no-bid scoring models for future product tiers
- Identify recompete patterns and market timing signals
- Evaluate and improve AI-generated opportunity summaries
This research is internal only. The outputs are features in fedlane.us — not reports, not sold datasets, not anything that leaves the service.
Outcome follow-up
If you mark a bid as submitted, we may send you a single follow-up email approximately 90 days later asking whether you won. This is optional — one click to answer, and you can ignore it. Outcome data is the highest-quality signal we can collect, and it directly improves the scoring model that ranks your future digests.
What we will never do
AI processing and your data
We use Anthropic Claude and OpenAI models to score opportunities, generate digest summaries, and analyze bid signals. When your data is processed by these models, it is done via API under agreements that prohibit those providers from using your data to train their public models.
In practice, this means: an AI model reads a SAM.gov notice and your firm profile to generate a relevance score. The notice text and your profile are the inputs; the score is the output. Neither the inputs nor outputs leave fedlane.us's control.
Your data is yours
You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, or request deletion, at any time. Email support@fedlane.us. Anonymized, aggregated research signals cannot be individually deleted by design — once a signal is folded into aggregate statistics, it has no individual identity. Your named profile, bid history, and pipeline data are deleted within 30 days of an account closure request.
